We strive to advance our knowledge of dermatology and offer solutions to improve the quality of life of people with sensitive skin. We do it alongside universities, health professionals and patient associations. We do this, with them, by pooling our expertise, to develop innovative active ingredients and our products, and by relying on the teams at the Avène Hydrotherapy Center. We also do it through training and solidarity actions. We are convinced that by combining our efforts, we will continue to provide even greater relief for the most sensitive skin types.
To provide solutions adapted to sensitive skin, we have forged close relationships and multiple collaborations with dermatologists. For over 30 years, we have been working with them to develop effective, safe and well-tolerated skincare products that complement therapeutic treatments. To go even further, we support solidarity actions such as those of the Euromelanoma association, created by renowned dermatologists, in the field of skin cancer prevention. We are also working together on continuous training programmes and to develop services for healthcare professionals with a common objective: to improve the health and quality of life of people with sensitive, intolerant and allergy-prone skin.
Side Onco Skin: We developed this mobile app, in collaboration with Dr Vincent Sibaud from the Institut Universitaire du Cancer (University Cancer Institute) in Toulouse and Professor Caroline Robert from the Institut Gustave Roussy in Villejuif, specialist onco-dermatologists. This app supports healthcare professionals in taking care of and advising patients suffering from dermatological symptoms linked to cancer treatments (chemotherapy, targeted therapy, immunotherapy and radiotherapy).
You Dermoscopy: We supported the development of this mobile app, created by Meeter, in cooperation with Professor Giuseppe Argenziano and the Unité du Cancer de la Peau (Skin Cancer Unit). This app, designed in a fun way, allows healthcare professionals to improve their ability to identify dermatoscopic lesions. Dermatoscopy or dermoscopy is a microscopic examination of the surface of the skin. It is primarily used to diagnose malignant skin lesions (i.e. those that are cancerous in nature ).
The skin plays a very important role for every one of us... It reflects who we are, allows us to feel the world around us and protects us from it. We are committed to soothing all skin types with skincare adapted to each and every one of us, and by investing in actions to help our skin. We do this with the expert teams in skin health education at the Avène Hydrotherapy Center and alongside patient associations or foundations such as the Eczema Foundation and the European Skin Cancer Foundation, by providing them with our expertise or our support.
Undergoing a treatment at the Avène Hydrotherapy Center is often a moment of tranquillity in which you can reconnect with life’s sweetest aspects. It’s also an opportunity to reconnect with yourself. In addition to the treatments, the teams offer skin health education workshops for spa visitors and their companions. The aim is to help them cope better with their condition on a daily basis, to enable them to acquire good preventive actions to prolong the beneficial effects of the thermal treatment, to prevent flare-ups and reduce anxiety and stress. These workshops are also an opportunity to interact with others who also live with skin conditions.
Eau Thermale Avène is a founding member of the Laboratoires Pierre Fabre foundation entirely dedicated to eczema – the Eczema Foundation. The foundation’s mission is to ease the burden of eczema on patients. It designs and finances therapeutic education projects to improve knowledge of the disease among patients and their families. It works to bring patients and caregivers together to minimise uncertainty when choosing a therapy and to help them learn how to manage eczema.
